World Series of Birding

HighlandHawks

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, our team will be participating in New Jersey Audubon’s World Series of Birding, now in its 42nd year. It is the longest running birding competition and fundraiser in the US.

The Land Conservancy of New Jersey's Highlands Hawks will be competing in the Level 1: Boundless Birding category of the NJ Audubon Society's 2025 World Series of Birding. In the 24 hour event, we will attempt to find as many species as possible in New Jersey, starting to the north in Sussex County at midnight and working south throughout the day towards the Ocean City welcome center and Forsythe/Brigantine. Nighttime searching will focus on marsh birds, owls, nightjars, and hopefully nocturnal flight calls if conditions are right.
