Rambling Redstarts
Welcome to the Rambling Redstarts team page!
On Saturday, May 9, 2026, our team will be participating in the longest-running birding competition in the United States, the World Series of Birding! We are competing as an NJA Ambassador Team with the goal of tracking down as many birds from across the globe as we can!
Our four team members are Cape May Bird Observatory's Program Coordinator Adehl Schwaderer and Associate Naturalists, Dave Pollard and Lynn Pollard, and 2025 George Myers Naturalist, Caroline Behnke. Before becoming a full-time staff member in June 2022, Adehl previously worked for CMBO, first in the fall of 2018 as an Interpretative Naturalist, and again in 2019 as the George Myers Naturalist. Dave & Lynn moved to Cape May after spending most of their adult lives in West Virginia. The couple spends countless hours annually volunteering for CMBO in the form of trip leading, planning festivals, assisting with Road Scholar tours, and are excellent birders and teachers to boot. Lynn enjoys sewing and is an avid native gardener, while Dave is a passionate Yankees fan and enjoys fishing. After spending three years working on Little St. Simons Island, Caroline returned to her hometown of Cape May to work for CMBO & the NCCM. She is a talented educator and photographer, with a passion for the Delaware Bayshore, especially horseshoe crabs!
Your donation to our team will help support CMBO's educational programs, as well as the volunteers and seasonal staff who lead a large portion of our programs. With your help, we hope to channel our passion for conservation and environmental education to foster a future where people and nature thrive together.
Thank you for visiting our page and for your support! We can’t wait for the 43rd World Series of Birding to begin!
