World Series of Birding

PSE&G Powerline Peepers

On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the PSE&G Powerline Peepers will be out in search of birds as part of New Jersey Audubon’s World Series of Birding, the longest-running birding competition and fundraiser in the US. Our team is sponsored by PSE&G, and this is our sixth year participating in the World Series of Birding! We will be raising funds for New Jersey Audubon’s Research Department to support research and conservation efforts throughout New Jersey.

New Jersey Audubon and PSE&G have a long-standing collaborative relationship to document bird species along transmission line rights-of-way, to assess species response to targeted habitat management activities, and to improve wildlife habitat in these areas. These areas provide critical habitat for a variety of bird species, including Golden-winged Warbler, Prairie Warbler, and other birds of conservation concern.

We will be counting species along PSEG’s rights-of-ways and in other areas throughout the state to highlight both the diversity of bird species using rights-of-way, and the ongoing partnership between New Jersey Audubon and PSE&G.

Thank you for supporting the Powerline Peepers and New Jersey Audubon’s research efforts!
