Hey, fellow birders! We are the Pine Barrens Bird Nerds. We represent the Pine Barrens Birding Club of Stockton University. Our club's mission is to connect Stockton students and members of the community to the world of birding, nature, and other birders in the area. We have field trips, weekly bird walks and identification workshops to orient students to the birds around them. We also hold cultural events and meetings that relate to the wider birding community and people's relationship to birds around the world. This will be our second year in a row competing in New Jersey Audubon's World Series of Birding. In addition to it being a super fun event for us, we also use it as a fundraiser for the club. We are competing in Atlantic County as part of the Limited Geographic Area category. Last year, we observed 127 species, so our goal is to get at least 130 this year. We are looking forward to another great day of birding and friendly competition!
