Support Our Park Staff Team “The Monmouth Bobolinks” in the 2026 World Series of Birding! One Mission for Monmouth County Wildlife! Can we find 100+ bird species in a single day? Help us turn our sightings into conservation action!
On Saturday, May 9th, a team of your dedicated Monmouth County Park System staff will be trading their office gear for binoculars to compete in the 43rd Annual New Jersey Audubon World Series of Birding.
Competing in the Limited Geographic Range category, our team will stay strictly within the borders of Monmouth County. Our goal? To identify as many bird species as possible—by sight or sound—within a non-stop 24-hour marathon.
Connecting People, Birds, & Parks
We aren’t just birding for the thrill of the chase. We are raising vital funds for the Friends of the Monmouth County Park System, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that makes our wildlife projects possible.
Why Your Support Matters:
100% of the funds we raise go directly back into our parks. Your past generosity has already built a thriving network of "bird real estate" across our trails, including:
- Specialized Nesting Boxes: For Bluebirds, American Kestrels, Wood Ducks, and Screech, Barred, and Barn Owls.
- Purple Martin Colonies: Supplying vital housing for these aerial acrobats in our open spaces.
- Scientific Research: Funding equipment needed to monitor, survey, and protect our local biodiversity.
How You Can Join the Team:
You don’t have to stay up for 24 hours to help! You can sponsor our team by making a flat donation or pledging a dollar amount for every species we find. Whether we spot a rare migrant at Thompson Park or a nesting Osprey at the Manasquan Reservoir, your contribution ensures these birds have a home for years to come.
From the tiniest warbler to the majestic Great Blue Heron—the birds thank you, and so do we!
Sincerely,
The Monmouth County Park System Birding Team – The Monmouth Bobolinks
